Managing tight timing constraints can be a challenge at times but if designed correctly the system can easily adapt to new requirements and ensure everything operates as efficiently as possible. When designing embedded firmware, the developer should implement as much asynchronous functionality as possible. You don't want a system waiting around for a single input or condition as this could cause a delayed reaction to a time sensitive input. This can be done using a scheduler or RTOS in systems that need it, allowing the code to react to inputs based on a priority system. This can also be achieved by taking advantage of DMA for peripheral interactions, timers for scheduled/interval code execution, and IO interrupts for capturing ext events.

Implementing strategies requires a balance between system requirements, available resources, and the specific nature of the embedded application. A couple I might add: -Optimize Code: Regularly review and optimize the code to eliminate unnecessary processes or functions that consume time. -Testing and Profiling: Continuously test the system under real-world conditions and use profiling tools to identify and address bottlenecks. -Modularity and Scalability: Design the system with modularity in mind. This allows for easier updates and scalability which can adapt to changing time constraints. -Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain good documentation and encourage knowledge sharing.
