In the Live Production Environment I have found that remaining calm and presenting yourself in a professional manner while identifying the failure and finding a solution is the best approach. As a technician I have had to walk onto a stage a few times to remedy a problem. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation take a beat to wipe away the sweat, breathe and calmly walk out onto the stage like you belong there. Being frantic and trying to run across hunched over as if you're on AV Ninja Warrior only adds to the anxiety and awkwardness of the moment.

1. If you ever have to walk out on stage to fix a problem don't forget to assess how the talent or presenter on stage is handling this, it may be their first time on stage and a little discreet reassurance may be just what they need to start back up. If they've just been out there waiting for you to come "fix the thing" grab a bottle of water from backstage on your way and bring that out for them. 2. Always have a small sewing kit, lint roller and Tide Pen in your gearbox.
