Animation is a time consuming task, so if you spend too much time for easy shots then you'll be left with less time for lengthy shots which will result in low productivity. This is why prioritising is necessary. Also you can prioritise the processes while doing an animation shot. Instead of straight ahead, you must choose pose to pose and prioritize all the blocking of shots at first place. Get them approved and then work on the next stages of primary and secondary to finish things on time.

Distractions are one of major things to reduce productivity. Many times these distractions are your own buddies from the team. They would finish the task and push you to come along with them for lunch, snaks, tea, playing around. Also talking about people is a part of distraction. When you think about others when your own work is pending, your energies get channelized into different direction causing a decrease in focus on the actual main task. This has happened with me a lot of time. Also mobile is one major distraction, Calls, Playing Games. I have seen people talking to their love partners for the entire day while working from desks. Now this might work for someone but its a major distraction as the talks would affect the mood of person.
Efficient communication is vital in animation, especially when working as part of a team. Rather than getting bogged down in lengthy email threads or meetings that could have been emails, use concise and clear communication methods. Consider implementing a project management tool where updates, feedback, and questions can be centralized, reducing the need for disruptive meetings and helping everyone stay on the same page with minimal time investment.

Energy is everything. When you're in the best energy, you'll perform the best. Now it might be difficult to stay in the Same energy all time, so you can introspect about the day time when you're most active to work. And put the important difficult tasks in that time. This is exactly what I used to do. I used to feel sleepy after lunch, so I knew that I am going to take only refining work at that time where I don't need to put my head more. Posing needs lot of focus as that is the base of animation. So regulate your energy to make sure, you work best at all times. Simply you can listen to inspiring music but make sure you hear instrumental as songs can again distract you on another track. Be in your own rhythm and you'll rock it.
In the ever-evolving field of animation, staying updated with the latest tools and techniques is essential. However, it's important to approach learning strategically to avoid it becoming a time sink. Set aside specific times for skill development and research, ensuring it doesn't encroach on your core animation work. What I feel is the most time as an animator gets wasted in thinking too much about stuff. Whatever I shared in earlier points were some of the tools and hacks ti avoid wasting time but here is another fact. People who are too much into their thoughts thinking about something else which is going into their life, affects their productivity and they actually loose a lot of time there. I was the one some time ago because I was having low EQ. So you're present on system but your mental system is working somewhere else and you might wonder at the end of the day about your productivity. Supervisor would ask about the reason and you don't have any answers to that Being with positive people who uplift your energy everyday can actually help you more
