I would add that fostering diversity is also a way to stimulate divergence in your creative process. The more you rely on teams that have diverse backgrounds and experiences, the more you will multiply sources of inspiration and diverge during your creative process. This will definitely benefit your ability to innovate. It is good from a social standpoint, but it is also serve our creativity.
