It is very good to have a second computer monitor, some water to drink. Keep in mind that this place you will stay on focus and once you finish the activities it is time to refresh your brain, to switch off from work and take care of your personal life.
In telecommunications, where the work can sometimes be round-the-clock, it's vital to set specific work hours and stick to them. Decide on your start and end times, and communicate these with your colleagues and clients. This not only helps you create a routine but also allows others to respect your personal time. Remember, consistency is key; try to log off at the same time each day to establish a rhythm that everyone can anticipate and adapt to.

Over the last several years I have set my hours to answer any calls after the workday. Usually ending at 10 PM and resuming at 7 AM. Between 5 PM and 10 PM I will answer a call but not get over invested in the conversation after 5 minutes.

Personal health is so incredibly important, and in fields like these it oftentimes tends to get overlooked. Psychological problems such (chronic) fatigue, stress/anxiety, and burnout are incredibly common. Make sure to take stock of how you (and, if you're able, those around you) are feeling on a daily basis, and always be an advocate for your own health. Also, never forget that self care is important. There's absolutely nothing wrong with making sure that your own basic needs are met—never let anyone else tell you otherwise!

This has become increasing important to me. I schedule days off and medical appointments and tell folks NOT TO CALL unless I hear it on the radio or TV first followed by sirens and lights. I WILL NOT pick up during those times.

If you're in a leadership position, lead by example and encourage your team to also prioritize their work-life balance. No início da minha jornada como profissional de telecomunicações, eu não sabia separar o tempo de trabalho e o tempo de folga. Havia uma constante sensação de que estar de folga era uma ofensa ao trabalho e à dedicação que eu colocava na minha carreira. Esse pensamento me levou a estar sempre conectado, mesmo nos meus momentos de descanso, o que acabou acarretando problemas de saúde significativos.
