As I leader and one who has leaders I don't believe it is possible to actually lead without connecting with ones self, the team, and ones own leaders. Can you be a boss without connecting? Absolutely. But being a boss isn't necessarily leading nor is leading necessarily being a the boss. When we understand where people are coming from AND realize that every experience they have had prior to working with us comes with them it allows for leaders to paint the vision with THEIR perspective in mind. And that creates buy in to a mutual understanding of what it will take to move the person forward as well as the team. And you know what else happens? You grow future leaders.
