As a recovering perfectionist, I often find myself struggling with short deadlines. However, the question I ask myself is, "Can I achieve 80% of the desired goal by the deadline?" If the answer is yes, I go for it. If not, I change what that 80% is out of-- as in, change my expectations and vision for the deliverable. Perhaps I can't create an interactive video, scenario-based training, etc.-- but perhaps I can create a short video that illustrates one point, along with engaging questions and self-reflections. Recognize that no one knows what image of perfection you have in your mind, so you can't disappoint them when you underpromise and overdeliver.
