For example, take a private equity firm that has data on 1,000s of private equity deals. For each deal, there are variables such as company financial performance (revenue growth, EBITDA margin), management team attributes, competitive landscape positioning, valuation multiples, macro indicators, etc. When a rich dataset with these factors also includes investment performance for deals, then artificial intelligence is able to search for signals that are leading indicators of an attractive investment.
