Understanding material properties at the extreme conditions is half work done. While doing so make sure we also give sufficient tolerance in condition. Then we need to select the materials that suits our requirements , we should avoid material that change the behaviors drastically with small change in extreme condition be it temperature, pressure etc. Once we have identified these, DoE needs to be done on the components since at continued period of time the material may not withhold the conditions so time is also a factor.
