First know what you bring to the table; Experience, connections, skills. Know what your competitors and what similar position pay. Know the benefits and commissions splits of other companies. These are your tools to win you compensation. Know how to negotiate (your in real estate, you better know how to negotiate). Be ready with a back up plan perhaps a graduated increase over a period of time. Remember, what one company may feel is a financial burden, my be another's white knight.

We all know that in our job presentation is everything, are you prepared to present your value, your track record, your educational background and skills, and how you have fortified yourself for the challenges you may face with potential clients.
