For example if you know you're schedule is quite packed don'tgo overboardin terms of time commitment- start small if possible (could be once a month/once a week), change if needed. The same goes with putting systems in place once you know what's realistically possible for you at the time - put in your calendar or some alarms days in advance , so that you'll have it in mind that you'll be volunteering. Set costs aside for travel if needed to reach the event, plan when you're leaving work to get there on time , plan childcare or support, etc to help you be present for the opportunity
