How do you make content that's perfect for social media trends?

Cracking social media success is more than just content creation – it's about nailing the platform vibe. Every social space has its style – Instagram digs visuals, X (previously Twitter) grooves on brevity, LinkedIn works as a professional networking event – share insightful, value-packed content that sparks meaningful conversations. Get cozy with algorithms, ride trends, and vibe with your audience's wavelength. That's the cool marketer's way to rule the social scene!

✅Before even knowing any platform, know your audience. ✅ I have 400K+ followers across social media and here is a quick case study from that. 👉🏻 I went heavy on reels because my audience was loving it on Instagram. 👉🏻 On the other hand my audience wanted more long forms when it came to youtube, so instead of just going into all shorts, I kept pushing long form as well. 💡 Remember any format will work if your audience is into it. ✅

Also social media platforms have their own style and theme for communicating. LinkedIn is used for professionals and content on the platform rarely should touch a creators person life and family, unless it makes sense in some way. Instagram is lifestyle related, and also a great resource for educational content, and content on the platform tend to have a really amazing cinematic/photography aesthetics. TikTok tends to still be more 'goofy', home made styled video, with not so high production all cost. YouTube, greatly varies but when it comes to the business world it tends to have really in depth conversations and knowledgeable content which can't be covered in short form content on other platforms.

I follow influencers and newsletters that track new features, algorithms and more. This way they do the research for me and all I have to do is read, then act accordingly. I always want to jump on new platform features right away. The platforms typically reward that behavior plus followers jump on new things.

To create content perfect for social media trends: stay updated, know your audience, be creative, use popular formats, engage with your audience, use relevant hashtags, and analyze and optimize.

Don’t try too hard. There are moments happening everyday that are great content. If you know your audience, understand what they seek to learn, obstacles they are trying to overcome, what their goals are and the types of decision makers they are, you can take content at your fingertips and package in ways that will resonate with them. Make sure as you create that it is built with your audience as the hero, using the language they use, not corporate language.

I’ve never been a fan of copying others. It’s ok to see something that’s working and test it on your pages while putting your own spin on it. The best is when you create the trend and others follow you.

Imitating others' content doesn't yield any real benefits. Nowadays, I am trying to infuse a storytelling essence into my content strategy. This approach enables me to present content in a narrative form, giving it a distinct touch. This uniqueness not only sets my content apart but also lends it a voice - my voice!

To make your content unique I don't recommend looking at the competitions content and rephrasing what they have said. Rather dive into spaces where you can get inspiration from where people would never dare to look. Where's that? - Email newsletters from other professionals in your and other niches - Books (very little people want to read books, and every chapter I would say can generate at least 10 pieces of content) - Books, Media, articles in other languages (every cultures has other customs and business practise from which we can learn from, but because a lot of people don't know other languages besides English they are not able to access this knowledge)

Following trends can help us to take different ideas but each of us has our own essence, our own way of communicating, our own way of doing things. And we need to be faithful with that. If we want to create a real community to help us to develop good business relationships, it's important to be authentic on our digital image. Otherwise we will establish different connections with a lot of possibilities to fail. I believe in persons. And I believe that we make business with people who has similar values and ways of thinking than us. If we show them in the "real world", why shouldn't do it in the "digital world"?

One piece of advice I received from a renowned YouTuber was to experiment with various topics. However, if any of those content gain traction, ensure you have at least 50 more topic ideas related to that subject. This strategy aids in achieving virality and harnessing the power of algorithms to your advantage.

It’s always making me feel like having a canvas where I mix and match ideas, formats, and strategies to create something truly unique. I always ensure to diveeeee into uncharted waters, try new ideas, and not being shy away from stepping outside my comfort zone :) We never really know what's going to resonate, or even go viral! The key is to embrace the thrill of the unknown and see what sparks that magic connection with your audience.

And testing I would say needs to be even more often what most people think, way more in fact. Don't stick, if you see something doesn't work accept it and move on

Want to network with top LinkedIn creators? It's simple: follow their content and add insightful comments on their posts. You can start getting to know them through their content and add value to their audience. Once you've established your presence, ask a mutual friend for a warm intro (ideal) or reach out with a short and sweet, highly personalized message. Explain why you'd like to connect and how you can be a resource either to them or their community. Remember: It's about what you can do for them, not the other way around. Always give before you get!

Collaboration between pages is great for increased exposure to more followers. Networking with other pages also exposes you to a much bigger audience. Many miss this because they only focus on their own agenda. Be a giver and be willing to share the spotlight!

Collaborate and network has always been a good strategy in the past and I think that it's the same in digital age. I strongly believe in the principle of reciprocity of Cialdini and it's really easy to apply. When you see a post that offers a very good a valued information, sharing it in your network adding your own point of view will increase the visibility of that post helping that person. I think that collaboration is a two way road where. If you offer, you will receive.

You can also offer to do guest content for the other established account. For example create a free carrousel, video, Reel for a bigger account in your niche in exchange for receiving a shootout and being tagged.
