Be careful not to confuse confidence and arrogance, the second is normally a cover-up for a lack of confidence. By knowing your strengths and values you can build confidence. It comes from within and doesn't require anyone else to tell you. Confidence is demonstrated through action, and a confident person will tend to speak with their actions.

Confidence begins with self-assuredness. Embrace your strengths and acknowledge your areas for growth. Set achievable goals and celebrate your successes, no matter how small. When you radiate self-confidence, others are more likely to have confidence in you.

In my experience, I used to interrupt people while they are speaking to defend my point of view and this led me to lose communication with them after that so I learned to listen more and understand and take time to think about what I’m going to say and then I start to speak clearly and to the point to express how I feel about the whole situation.

What specific things would I be doing that let me know I'm being myself? Maybe thats cracking jokes, or bringing puppy dog lightness. Make a list. Now pick one. Maybe for you thats cracking jokes. When you're cracking jokes, whats the internal experience? Probably joy, fun, excitement. These are experiences you can know. Now focus on doing things that help you feel that way. This is how you "be yourself".

Building trust takes time. Be patient and persistent in your efforts. Authenticity and confidence, when consistently demonstrated, become the bedrock of enduring trust.
