How can you make sure everyone on your team has a voice in environmental design?

Idea Generation: Encourage each participant to contribute innovative ideas. Recording & Transparency: Document opinions and suggestions transparently. Comparative Analysis: Analyze ideas against practical metrics like practicality, cost, sustainability, and user benefits. Action Plan: Develop a clear, responsible-based action plan. Regular Review: Schedule follow-ups to review and adapt the action plan. This ensures diverse perspectives, inclusivity, and an innovative action plan for environmental design.

Often times, it helps to guide your team through the use of tools and roadmaps to get all hands on deck - 1. Community Forums (Public): Team forums like Slack, Microsoft Teams channels, Discord, etc. can be used for faster and tracked participation/ responses for feedback. 2. Charettes (Group): The use of workshops & charettes catered to specific topics with the team can help everyone voice their thoughts. 3. Polls, surveys & interviews (Individual): For more controlled environments, where you want your team to feel safer and more open in their response, means like polls, surveys & targetted interviews could work.

The first thing - everyone involved must have a deep understanding of how natural, biological, ecological systems work to regenerate themselves and the soil, air and water. Nature should be the strongest “voice” then professional disciplines must serve in humble, mutually beneficial symbiotic relationships leading to environmental design with and for resilient natural systems.

It is crucial to empower each team member in order to have an inclusive environment for designing an environmental design.
