Good ideas can spark from anywhere and anyone, and sometimes a fresh perspective from someone with no knowledge of the area brings fresh questions we wouldn’t come up with on our own, because they’re not restricted by processes - only by the limit of their curiosity - when giving feedback and asking questions.

The best way to innovate is to simply have a retrospective after every cycle and look at what has worked and what isn’t working so well, gather suggestions and iterate changes based on specific feedback. It is surprising how many teams don’t have the time to stop and look at how they did and what should change the next time, then build an action plan for implementing that change.

One thing I found very helpful in my teams was the Google Sprint method. You can read about it online or in their book written by Jake Knapp. This method allows the team to understand, prototype and test ideas in less than a week. It also brings the team together and creates a safe place to brainstorm ideas and be innovative.
