In my opinion, the biggest benefit to a hybrid team is that they are super adaptable and agile. Hybrid working is a breath of fresh air in the corporate world, allowing team members to mould their work around their lives. This paves the way for a better work-life blend as individuals can harmonise their work commitments with personal needs, this means they can cope well with change and ultimately makes them more agile and adaptable.

We learn and develop when we can hear and accept different perspectives. Diverse (hybrid) teams accelerate this process in healthy environments because diverse opinions aren’t only accepted, they are sought.

Hybrid teams helps in the exploration of diverse perspectives. Here are some key benefits: -Working with colleagues from different locations brings together a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. This can lead to more creative solutions, innovative ideas, and a broader understanding of different working styles. -You can learn from the expertise and strengths of others beyond your immediate team, expanding your knowledge base and skillset.

To those of us who aren't digitally native, the hybrid-working era provides us with an opportunity to become more tech savvy. Again depending on how you define hybrid will depend on the results here. Zoom/Teams based activities can work well to help integrate all team members but nothing beats including everyone regardless. Maybe that's bring team members physically together (home or away) maybe it's provide local meetups for say "the Philippines office" and "the UK office" (and a few hours on a teams call so everyone can see everyone). Same goes for departmental "get togethers" again maybe virtually maybe not. Ensuring team members feel valued and connected with other locations or specialties is a great way to build team coherence in distributed and hybrid teams

What is helpful is shared access to documents, collaborative platforms, shared updates and above all frequent log-ins to stay abreast. If technology, devices and spaces are optimized much can be achieved to enhance individual competences and productivity. A safe, shared space where failure is accepted enhances team abilities to deliver in VUCA conditions. A definitive way is to prepare oneself by signing up for a certification to deal with hybrid working conditions. Accepting and optimizing team strengths and weaknesses is an important part of growing together. People adapt and grow better in non-invasive environments.

First, having shared and measurable goals for the year, quarter, month, and/or week is important. It's hard to know if you are on track if everyone isn't on the same page on the direction and destination. Second, you can't improve what don't or can't track. Using a shared system (like an OKR & Management Reports, Clickup, or Asana) that allows people to be connected and communicate team goals, milestones, tasks, and activities that allow the team to work separately but in the same direction is key to high performing team and productivity.

In my experience, hybrid teams can enhance your personality, your exposure to better skills as well as boost your performance. It also allows you to be flexibility and customise your work environment thus, helping you to develop your skills in a more autonomous manner.

We aren't ever taught how to get to know ourselves and our peak performance cycles and instead often told "wake up early" or "eat the frog" as one size rules for all. Hybrid work can allow you the space to operate within your best windows of productivity as you listen to yourself.

You can tailor your schedule to fit personal commitments like family, health, and hobbies, leading to improved well-being, motivation, and satisfaction.

I have worked with hybrid teams for over two decades, across multiple nationalities. The most common barrier is the cultural context. Much of this irons out in person to person interactions. Hybrid activities also tend to freeze up communication opportunities. The biggest challenge remains the impersonal nature of contact. One way to minimize the effects of these is work in smaller teams or groups. Adaptation to hybrid environments including open voicing of dissonance is better.

What I found most helpful to even when you are remote or hybrid, to focus on team building and getting to know each other's personalities. Having several moments throughout the year where you truly connect can set a great base for the time to come. Of course, clear communication guidelines, the right tools, different communication methods and check-ins are also important, but during real life events, even truer connections can be made. If this is not possible - think of options for virtual team events to connect on a deeper level.

Open communication is VITAL in the success of a hybrid team. Ensuring that everyone is aligned and committed to the overall goals of the team will lead to success. When your team is hiding and unresponsive, that can lead to terrible results.

Have very clear communication with them so that they do not feel left out or ignored. Regularly check upon them and see if there is any issue that they are facing or any kind of support that they might need. Appreciate them at every stage so that they feel connected and a part of them team.

My perspective is guided by the lack of technological infrastructure including hardware disparities, bandwidth inconsistencies and individual skills in these contexts. A cross section of hybrid teams being in urban and/or mofussil environments also places it's own weight in these situations. The pandemic demonstrated the singular strength of each one of these variables. Navigating under static and stable conditions is very different from traversing through challenging dynamic variables that keep altering frequently. And the team cannot always be reconvened spontaneously to address the 'storms' when they occur.

Hybrid teams, blending remote and in-office members, offer diverse perspectives and skill sets, enhancing learning and growth opportunities. Exposure to various work styles and cultures broadens understanding and adaptability. Regular virtual and physical interactions foster communication skills and tech-savviness.
