Many sustainability projects focus on changing behaviours, we focused on enabling sustainable behaviours. Making it easier for those already practicing a sustainable behaviour or those who wish to practice that sustainable behaviour.

It is definitely hard to succeed as an eco-preneur, as I like to call it, but if you want to give yourself a head start and a good chance you need to do the following: - Learn from others in the same field: someone somewhere has more than likely already gone through the struggles you are going through, find them and learn from them. - Find and build the right partnerships: almost everyone wants to do some good, but not everyone is going to be a good partner. Make sure to vet all possible partnerships and find the ones that benefit both sides. - Engage your community: in any industry if you want to succeed you to engage with your community, build trust and growing the community around your brand. But first you need to get out there!

We had customers reach out to us for a year asking for us to solve this problem for them. The only problem was most of the requests weren't scalable or achievable for our organization. We knew there was a big problem to be fixed and we brainstormed hard on scalable ways we could solve it. We finally came up with a value proposition that worked for us and for them... and it worked!!

I actually spent 1 year doing collection points for kids' goods and other items. This wasn't innovative at all. By learning the needs of mums and identifying their unadressed painpoints suddenly innovation started to weave its way in. My adivce is to follow your gut & focus on the people.
