First and foremost assess the risk of *NOT* taking this risk: 1. Staying stuck and lack of growth 2. Missing out on opportunities 3. Falling behind while others get ahead 4. Becoming irrelevant 5. Miss out on important lessons. 6. Lack of innovative ideas. 7. Safe choices = smaller gains

I find this a funny step. I realise it is talking about work-related expertise, but it is almost like saying you should have a backup plan for your opinions, passion, or leadership thoughts!
