Es gibt zum Beispiel viel zu viele Führungstrainer, die zwar in ihrer geschönten Biografie geführt haben, in der Realität jedoch nur ein paar Monate oder gar nicht. 2) Ist er seit mindestens 10 Jahren Trainer in seinem Bereich? Auch Trainer sein will geübt werden. Musst und publiziert er gar die Ergebnisse seiner Teilnehmenden? Also nicht einzelne Storys sondern fundierte Statistik? 3) Gehört er zu den Top3 in seinem Bereich - meist ganz gut an der Anzahl der Bestseller erkennbar.

I've never been to a networking event where you make a "meaningful connection" right away, so there's no point in trying to do that at the event. Meaningful connections are built by a) Being interesting or being interested at the event b) Following up after the event with an offer c) Giving value first before you ask for anything Workshops and seminars are also a great way to build deeper knowledge of the presenters and panelists. I try to ask a thought provoking or controversial question to any panelist I want to learn more about. A question will make them think critically on the spot and make you slightly more memorable than the rest of their audience.

Maximizing the benefit of attending workshops and seminars starts BEFORE attending. There are many times when I get enthusiastic about a topic, I pay for the workshop or seminar, and then attend part of it and lose interest. I find that when I prepare the following BEFORE the seminar/workshop, it is a better use of my time: - a list of topics and questions I am looking for answers on - a statement of "after this seminar/workshop, I want to be able to do..."

Follow up is one of the most underrated skills that most people to do not have. If you show interest in someones ideas, connections, in-sights, and you do not follow up with them, what does that say about your commitment to your own idea. Just following up can be the difference between and idea, and a business!
