While open communication is the lifeline of digital learning teams I found this hard to grasp during the shutdown with COVID and working remotely. I felt very distant and disconnected with others. It took me, risking and sharing, one-on-one with the Director before I felt better. It came with time. In the beginning, it seemed as if leaders didn’t take in consideration that technology could and would be challenging and it would lead to low morale. When leaders initiated broad-based training and encouraged open communication about how we were faring and what was needed, it got much better.
Mutual support is about creating a 'we're in this together' mentality. Encourage team members to help one another, whether it's sharing resources or offering advice. This not only strengthens team bonds but also ensures that no one feels isolated. When team members know they have the support of their peers, they are more likely to take risks and innovate, which benefits the entire team.
