One of our Mechanical suppliers EOL a part ... and a major Customer with LONG Life cycle for our Gear placed a large order .... after checking with Original part supplier .... escalation through their chain - answer was - sorry cant help - does not make economic sense - but what they did was refer me to their sub-contractor in LCR (Low cost region) whom they use at times for branded product .... After 3 months of back n forth we had a Prototype "replica" part that worked AND a very happy customer
