New Solar Hyperion Promises Fast, High-Range E-Scooter Fun

Solar Scooters' new e-scooter, named the Hyperion, promises a top speed of 65 mph with plenty of range.

The Hyperion is powered by a Samsung 72V 40Ah 2880Wh battery that boasts 21,700 cells. That allows for the 70-mile range (at 30 mph, which is already pretty fast for a scooter). The Hyperion also touts a set of dual 3500W motors, which peak at 4500W each. It's made with an aluminum alloy for high tensile strength and durability, says Solar Scooters, and has a custom-designed suspension that lets it carry 2000 pounds per wheel and a 90-degree tilt angle to keep the wobbles to a minimum at high speeds.

The display is a 3.5-inch TFT screen and is fully waterproof, perfect for off-road adventures. It also includes Bluetooth linking so you can send your GPS info from your phone to the scooter's screen, and it lets you manage scooter data right on your phone.

Plus, the Hyperion has a cool luminescent "Tron" light that wraps around the deck, which can enhance your visibility while riding at night. Plus, it just looks cool.
