A new nightstand clock with built-in Alexa and no camera could be your next get, especially at 40 percent off for Prime Members.

Amazon has finally updated its 2017-2019 smart clock with the Echo Spot, a new version that includes a screen on the top half of the round front piece. The company says it'll let you see the time, the weather, and even song titles on the screen, which will come with a bunch of different clock faces.

Drop this on your nightstand, and you'll have a new clock that will play tunes, and wake you in the morning. The new Echo Spot eschews a full-face display for a half-screen, half-speaker configuration, and while the earlier version of the Spot had a camera in it, this iteration does not. Amazon told Lifewire that the camera in earlier devices only takes photos and videos when asked by customers, and it can be turned off with a dedicated camera button.

It's got Alexa built right in, too, so you can ask it anything you would your other Alexa devices, like what the temp is outside, movie times, and (of course) "Where's Chuck Norris?"

The new Echo Spot is available today in black, white, and blue colors for $79.99. Prime members can get it for more than 40 percent off, too, at $44.99.

Update 7/8/24: Updated paragraph 2 to clarify the use of cameras in earlier iterations of Echo Spot.
