Kamala Harris’s sorority got hundreds of gay circuit daddies booted from Dallas hotel

Hundreds of attendees of the popular Daddyland circuit party were thrown out of their downtown Dallas hotel after alleged complaints from Vice President Kamala Harris’s sorority sisters.

Both groups somehow managed to get booked into the same hotel at the same time, leading to a confrontation with hotel management, who claimed that the sorority sisters complained about the men’s inappropriate behavior in the hotel’s public areas.

She shouted about how her son “might think he can put on makeup and… high heels and have his penis cut off and take estrogen and grow fake boobs!”

The incident began last Friday, when a number of members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority — in town for their biennial convention, where Harris will give the keynote address on Wednesday — found themselves sharing the Crown Plaza Downtown Dallas hotel with the Daddyland Festival Dallas 2024 event.

Hotel management claimed the circuit party “went to hell” after a Friday night kickoff. By Saturday afternoon, the hotel sent notices to 88 rooms of Daddyland attendees informing them that they had two hours to vacate the premises.

At 4 p.m. on Saturday, Daddyland attendees received this printed message in their rooms: “Take a moment… Daddyland group participant. We are sorry it didn’t work out… the owner of the hotel is requesting you leave immediately. You will get a refund for Saturday, july 6, 2024 and Sunday, july 7, 2024 – please move out by 6 p.m.. All parties & events are canceled Saturday 7/6, Sunday 7/7 & Monday 7/8.”

The hotel’s owner told The Advocate that promotors for the Daddyland event, which the hotel has hosted before, failed in their responsibilities to manage attendees’ behavior in public areas.

“The last time they were perfect. This time, it went to hell,” said the hotel’s owner, Terry Tognazzini.

Tognazzini said the last-minute eviction had nothing to do with homophobia and could have been avoided if the promoter had bought out the entire hotel.

Tognazzini said Daddyland participants were mostly undressed in the public areas of the hotel, leading a couple of dozen members of the AKA sorority to cancel their stays. Tognazzini said the disruption and cancellations cost the hotel between $60,000 and $70,000.

One Daddyland attendee said he witnessed no ill will as he watched sorority members and circuit partiers compliment one another’s outfits.

Another pointed out a double standard when it came to states of undress between straight women in bikinis by the pool and gay men publicly sporting jockstraps and other revealing daddy wardrobe.

“A pool party at the hotel had women dressed in bikini tops and bottoms walking through the lobby, and nobody seemed to care. But gay men in short shorts and tank tops led to a mass eviction,” Daddyland attendee Kevin Sohrabi told the aforementioned publication.

Tognazzini begged to differ.

“We have rules here of clothes, and they’re supposed to wear their clothes, and they didn’t wear their clothes,” he said.

On Sunday, a former employee of the promotor, “Daddy Ersin” Winokur, told The Dallas Voice that promotional material for the event advertising a “Boom Boom Room” for public sex was flagged weeks ago by hotel management but was never addressed with Winokur.

The promotor “told me corporate was receiving several complaints regarding the Boom Boom Room, or dark room, and that Ersin needed to remove all wording regarding that,”, Winokur’s former employee Jason Martinez said.

In a statement, Winokur said he attempted to come to a resolution over the complaints with Tognazzini, but the owner became “outwardly disprespectful.”

“While we stand up for the many for the actions of the few the owner refused to listen to reason and made the decision to evict without notice everyone attending our events,” Winokur said. He said that the hotel’s notification misled attendees into thinking Daddyland had canceled all of its events outside of the hotel as well, leading to frustration, confusion, low attendance, and lost money for the event’s business partners.

Tognazzini said, “The promoter put people in here, screwed us all up. We talked to him, he couldn’t do anything, so we threw ’em all out. It happens.”
