about Lake forest open lands

When we come together, our local actions can have global impacts. As the only accredited land trust in our community, Lake Forest Open Lands ensures this region remains a healthy, sustainable, and great place to live for everyone. We conserve land to address climate change, to protect clean air and clean water, and to help wildlife thrive along the shores of Lake Michigan.

Lake Forest Open Lands conserves the natural lands and habitats for the benefit of all who call this place home. We work every day to help all residents access, appreciate, and enjoy the region’s incredible biodiversity through volunteer opportunities, educational programs, and guided nature outings. See our impact by the numbers.

We’re working to ensure everyone in our community has access to nature and the land, and we want to help you can experience and enjoy time outside in your own way.
