Download Festival 2024 day two pictures as fans brave mud to see Fallout Boy, Pantera and The Offspring

An incredible line up made for a spectacular second day of the Castle Donington music festival

There was sunshine and rain on day two of Download Festival

Download day two was a cacophony of brilliant bands, combined with a healthy dose of rain and, of course, the mud to go with it. Sections of the site were like soup as the drizzle combined with big crowds, although organisers worked hard to make sure there was no repeat of previous years' apocalyptic conditions.

Nottinghamshire Live photographer Joe Raynor was on hand to photograph the fans and the bands and there was plenty of both, with headliners Fallout Boy and The Offspring delivering showstopping sets in the East Midlands countryside. The traffic trouble on the nearby main roads appears to be a thing of the past too, with organisers hailing a trouble-free start to the annual festival.

Festival booker Andy Copping said: "There was no doubt last year there was accessibility issues, traffic issues and it was important to get fresh eyes on the situation and resolve it. I bought a company in called Far and Beyond, headed up by Jess Shields who comes from Castle Donington. Many of the team had worked Download before.

"So it was a case of them coming in and using their knowledge sorting out solutions and a new system and I think they have achieved that without question. There have been zero issues with traffic."
