A breakfast menu is to be introduced at two pubs co-owned by England cricketer Stuart Broad this summer. The Griffin Inn in Swithland near Bradgate Park and The Tap and Run just over the Leicestershire border in Upper Broughton near Melton Mowbray will start serving breakfast from Saturday, July 13.

Breakfast will be available every Saturday morning during the summer months from 9am-11am. The Cat & Wickets Pub Company, owned by Broad and fellow ex-England cricketer, Harry Gurney, said the idea came after a “successful trial” at both pubs during this year’s May bank holidays.

They said the trials saw the pubs welcome “hundreds of guests”. Mr Gurney, managing director of The Cat and Wickets Pub Company, said: “We’ve been contemplating serving breakfast at both of our pubs for a while now and it was fantastic to see proof that the demand is there during both of our successful bank holiday breakfast sessions."
