Former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan is returning to Leicester and will now perform two homecoming gigs. The singer had originally only been set for one Leicester performance, but demand has seen a second date added.

Tom, who left the Leicester rockers in 2020, will play two gigs at the city’s O2 Academy in University Road on Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23, with tickets available now. The former frontman had only been set to play on December 23, but due to demand, a second performance has been added to the bill.

Tom will return to Leicester after performing alongside Noel Gallagher, with the singer said to be delighted at his homecoming. He said: “Due to demand we have added an extra night at Leicester Academy on December 22. Can’t wait to play to my home crowd.”

The performances will come just months after Tom released his first solo album The Reckoning earlier this year. He will be supported on stage by Little Man Tate and the band Gazelle on December 22, while on December 23 he will be supported at the O2 Academy by Stereophonics guitarist Adam Zindani. Tickets for the gigs are now available online.

Tickets for the December 22 performance are priced at £29.75 each for the general admission standing area of the O2 Academy. That price is the same for the December 23 gig, while resale tickets for this date are currently priced at £28.75 each.

No under 8s are allowed to the gig, while all under 14s must be accompanied by an adult over 18. More information on the gigs can be found on the Ticketmaster website.
