Although I only saw her once a year, Theresa was the kindest nurse I have ever met. I was never afraid to ask her questions, was the best at drawing my blood, and always put me at ease. She was amazing and definitely made the world a better place.
Sending prayers to her family.

To Laura & Steve. ...Your mom & pop would be so proud of all you kids!!!
With your mom being a nurse, looks like you all followed in her footsteps, with such compassion in your life choices. It's so hard to fathom that both Julie & now, Theresa, too, have gone on to their just rewards!!!
I still have great memories of all of you when you were younger; so these passings bring quite a few tears for me. Sounds like she had a wonderful & fulfilling life, according to some of these condolences. I, especially, send my condolences & prayers to her 2 kids. I just know she had to be 'THE BEST MOM EVER" to both of them.....God bless all of you!!! Elta

I only met Theresa briefly at SLU, but I now work with her research patients. When they walk in, first thing they ask is about Theresa. A true testament to her legacy.

To Tyler and Stephanie, I am so sorry for your loss. Theresa was a great mother and I enjoyed knowing her during our years at Avery. I think all my boys spent some fun times at the Whelan household. Janet and George Csolak and family

Theresa was a nursing student of mine many years ago at St. Louis Community College. She was incredibly intelligent and was one of our first honors students in the nursing program. She was always extremely caring of others. What an exemplary human being!
