Willis, Elizabeth "Libby" Greene
was born March 18th, 1944, to George D. and Mary E. Greene and passed away July 2, 2024, at her home at the age of 80. She attended Maryland Elementary School and graduated from Clayton High School in 1962. She graduated from Stephen's College in Columbia and graduated from the University of Arizona at Tucson, where she joined Phi MU Sorority. She married Robert Willis in 1979.
Libby is preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Sheldon Willis and husband Robert Donald Willis. She is survived by sister Ellen Hocker of Hilo, Hawaii and a brother, James Greene from Vero Beach, Florida, four sisters-in-law, four nieces, seven grand nieces, and six great-grandnieces and nephews.
Libby taught elementary school at Clark and Hudson in Webster Groves School District for 30 years. She was very active in Phi Mu Sorority Alumni in St. Louis, hosting their annual Christmas party, and in her Soaring Shares Stock Club. After retirement, Libby volunteered in Kindergarten and Physical Education at Hudson School and Twin Oaks Christian School, her church's school.
She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan, reader, and gardener. Libby shared the produce with friends and neighbors.
Services: The Service will be Friday, July 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary/Oak Hill Cemetery, 10301 Big Bend Road 63122. Libby's family requests memorial donations be made to Phi Mu Foundation, Twin Oaks Presbyterian, APA of St. Louis, and Best Friend Sanctuary.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Willis' passing. I grew up in the neighborhood and worked for Mr. and Mrs. Willis for many years, mowing their lawn, shoveling their driveway, and housesitting (and cat sitting) when they went on trips. She was the nicest person and I still enjoyed visiting with her on her porch even in recent years.
