Preparation Period. During the preparation period, a teacher will have no other assignment except in an emergency situation. It is recognized that the preparation period is a scheduled part of the teacher's work day and the teacher is expected to be in his/her respective Building. If the teacher must leave the Building during his/her preparation and/or lunch period, he/she must notify the Building switchboard operator.

Preparation Period. All full-time teachers directly involved in classroom instruction shall receive a block of 50 minutes of preparation time daily. Additionally, all teachers shall receive two full workdays prior to the first student contact day for individual classroom preparation free of other responsibilities. In addition teachers will receive minimum day release for each grading period to prepare report cards free of other responsibilities. Secondary teachers can teach up to but not exceeding two courses on the same subject per period unless the Principal and Teacher involved agrees to more.
Preparation Period. All full-time teachers will receive at least 1 preparation period per day unless the teacher has agreed to be paid for working during their preparation period. Elementary school teachers shall average at least two hundred forty (240) minutes of preparation time per week. The Middle and High school teachers' preparation period will be equal to the length of a regular class period. Prep-Time is defined as time when teachers are not supervising or instructing students. *It is noted that the above entitlements are not applicable to shortened student attendance days or shortened student attendance weeks.
Preparation Period. Any teacher giving up a preparation period to substitute for another teacher’s class or study hall, by request or order of the administration, during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years shall be paid $43.00 per high school/middle school class and $32.00 per thirty minute class at the elementary school level. Any teacher taking a minimum of five (5) and no more than ten (10) students due to the lack of substitutes will be compensated at the rate of $18.00 per high school/middle school class and $16.00 per thirty minute class at the elementary school level. Teachers volunteering to take more than 10 students will be compensated at the rates above.
Preparation PeriodThe teacher directly involved in classroom instruction shall be provided not less than the equivalent of fifty (50) minutes per day in session of preparation time in uninterrupted segments of not less than twenty-five (25) minutes. The intent of this provision is that said preparation time shall be available for use at the teacher's discretion for preparation activities related to the regular job assignment. The teacher shall not normally be assigned to other duties; however, the District reserves the right to direct the activities of the teacher during preparation periods from time-to- time for compelling reasons affecting the immediate welfare of students or for emergencies affecting the operation of the school. In addition, at the principal’s discretion, the teacher may use time during which the class is receiving instruction from specialists for preparation; otherwise the teacher may be assigned to participation in the class or other duties that would be beneficial to the educational goals of the District.
Preparation Period. Each regular classroom teacher will have a minimum of one (1) forty (40) minute duty free preparation period daily. All other teachers will have a minimum of five (5) forty (40) minute duty free preparation periods weekly. If fiscal/budgetary constraints arise that might result in the reduction of staff, the administration and the association will agree to meet to discuss the forty(40) minute preparation period and work towards a mutually agreeable resolution.
Preparation Period. 9.8.1 Unit members assigned to a middle school or a high school shall be entitled to a daily preparation period equivalent in length to a regular instruction period in that school unless the middle or high school has an approved block schedule in place pursuant to section 9.10. In the event that instructional periods must be shortened during the day, effort shall be made to equalize the impact of such shortening throughout all teacher preparation periods.

Preparation PeriodWith respect to middle/intermediate school full-time teachers, the District shall continue its present practice of permitting scheduled preparation periods when and as mutually agreed upon by respective staffs at each school and the respective site administrator.
