A McHenry man has been charged with sexually abusing a young child under the age of 13 last week in McHenry, court records show.

Robert S. Nolan, 33, of the 2300 block of Eisenhower Boulevard in McHenry, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, a Class 2 felony.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges the incident happened on the evening of November 24 in McHenry.

The complaint said Nolan committed two separate acts of sexual abuse on a girl, who was under the age of 13.

Nolan allegedly touched the girl inappropriately over her clothing, the complaint said.

The case was investigated by the McHenry Police Department and charges were approved.

Officers arrested Nolan and transported him to the McHenry County Jail.

McHenry County Judge Jeffrey Hirsch set bond at $10,000 on Saturday, court records show.

Nolan was released from the jail after posting 10% of his bond.

The charges against Nolan are Class 2 felonies, which carry a sentence of three to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

A status of preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 9.
