On May 16th, 2024, LACLJ hosted its annual awards gala, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser bringing together over 500 community members including leaders from the legal, nonprofit, corporate, and entertainment sectors.

At the gala, we celebrated the efforts of those working to promote the safety and stability of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in low-income communities. This year, LACLJ is proud to have recognized the following honorees: Pro Bono Partner of the Year Award to Jones Day, Community Service Award to Princeton Internships in Civic Service, and Justice Award to Melanie D. Mandles, Esq.

Celebrating Survivors featured Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass, and inspiring client testimonials from an immigrant survivor of human trafficking and a  survivor of domestic violence. We were also proud to feature local artists, the Mariachi Divas and the Supa Lowery Bros, who provided lively entertainment for all to enjoy, and Caroline Baudino as our fabulous emcee.

Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters, we raised over $550,000 to fund free legal representation and community-based services for low-income, immigrant survivors!
