Smoke testing shows what led to sewage issues at Forsyth, Mo., home

FORSYTH, Mo. (KY3) - City leaders say smoke testing of a homeowner’s pipes in Forsyth shows problems at the property, not the city’s sewage system.

The viewer complained to the city regarding raw sewage. Read her complaints by clicking here. Crews found a large crack in the cast iron sewer pipes on her property going into her home and issues with pipes underneath her home. The homeowner would generally take care of those issues, not the city.

Forsyth Mayor Missi Hesketh says they are not downplaying the issues at the nearby lift station. The city is looking at purchasing an entirely new system, and the mayor says she will share updates when that work gets underway.
