Suspect in custody after man found dead in DeRidder area, sheriff says

BEAUREGARD PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A suspect is in custody in connection with a man found dead in the DeRidder area, authorities say.
A 72-year-old man was found dead a little after 8 a.m. on June 24, Beauregard Parish Sheriff Mark Herford said. Investigators found evidence of homicide in the man’s death.
The suspect has not officially been arrested or charged, Sheriff Herford said.
The investigation is ongoing, and we will release more details as they become available.
