DERIDDER, La. (KPLC) - The State Fire Marshal’s Office is asking for the public’s help tracking down a person who may have been involved in an arson at a car dealership in November.

The Rosepine Fire Department responded to Benoit Ford in DeRidder after a passerby reported the fire around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, State Fire Marshal spokesperson Ashley Rodrigue said. The fire consumed the building and the dealership’s contents and inventory.

Investigators have determined that the fire was set intentionally, Rodrigue said. They are now asking for help identifying and finding the person responsible.

Rodrigue shared photos of a person who was seen walking around on the dealership property around 4 a.m., half an hour before the fire was reported. The suspect is believed to be a young man around 6 feet tall.
