Mark Bownds comes from Santa Fe, Texas on the gulf coast, getting his start at KACC, "The Gulf Coast Rocker."
He is a proud product of the University of Houston system and says, "GO COOGS!"
Mark has spent most of his professional career in radio. Stations worked at include FM 100.3 KILT and Sports 610 in Houston. He came to KTRE after many years as Assistant GM with Hanszen Broadcasting. That includes KGAS and KWRD in Carthage and Henderson.
Mark spent a lot of his childhood on Toledo Bend Lake where he fell in love with East Texas. That's why most of his career has been spent nestled in the Piney Woods.
A life-long lover of sports and a former athlete, Mark brings a passion for local sports to Lufkin. Other passions include the Astros, Rockets and Texans!
