Tyler Police Department emergency lines down for Verizon customers, authorities say

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Tyler Police 9-1-1 phone lines are currently down for some residents Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, Verizon is experiencing service outages caused by the latest rounds of severe weather. Officials say that emergency phone lines being inaccessible appears to be a phone carrier based issue.
Tyler PD is advising the public that if you cannot reach dispatch to then continue to use the alternate phone numbers given.
An estimated time of restoration has not been determined.
