CHICAGO (KLTV) - Former Mount Pleasant Tiger Michael Kopech threw a scoreless inning on Monday as the Chicago White Sox lost to the Twins, 8-6, in 11 innings.

The righthander entered the game in the 10th inning.

In extra innings, the team batting begins with a runner at second base, so the Twins had Carlos Correa at second to lead off the inning. Kopech forced Trevor Larnach to ground out to second base for the first out of the inning, but Correa advanced 90 feet to third base with one out. Jose Miranda was up next for the Twins, and he went down on strikes for the second out of the inning. Kopech got Max Kepler to fly out to center field for the third out and to keep the game tied.

Kopech threw 10 pitches, with six of them being strikes.

Chicago is now 26-67 on the year and sit in fifth place in the AL Central.
