NEW YORK (KLTV) - Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten earned a hold on Sunday in the Red Sox 3-0 win over the Yankees.

The righthander entered the game in the eighth inning.

Slaten faced Austin Wells to begin the inning, and got him to pop out to short for the first out. Slaten walked Oswaldo Cabrera in the next at-bat before getting Trent Grisham to go down swinging on strikes for the second out. Slaten forced DJ LeMahieu to ground out to third to end the inning.

Slaten threw 16 pitches, with seven of them being strikes.

The Red Sox are now 49-40 on the year and sit in third place in the AL East.
