Lufkin nails down week 3 opponent
LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Lufkin Panthers have had an eventful offseason since realignment in February. On Tuesday, the school confirmed their opponent for week three and they went out of the state to find them.
The Lufkin Panthers will be playing Little Rock Southwest (Arkansas) on September 13 in Texarkana at Grim Stadium.
The Panthers were looking for a team to add to their schedule after winning their appeal to change districts. Because of the school winning the appeal, they were forced to add a game to the schedule due to losing a prior scheduled district game.
Little Rock Southwest is a 7A school in Arkansas and they went 2-7 last season.
The Panthers will open their season at home against Longview on August 30.
