Temple Fire and Rescue saves resident trapped after home falls off foundation
TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Temple Fire and Rescue says they saved a resident Thursday night after their home fell off its foundation.
On June 27, at around 7:30 p.m., Temple fire responded to West Lamar Street on reports of a structure collapse
When crews arrived, Temple fire says they found a single-story home had fallen off its pier and beam foundation and landed about four feet from where it previously was.
After evaluating the structure, firefighters entered the home to help the homeowner and their pet.
Temple fire says shifting walls inside the home made it nearly impossible for the resident to open any doors and evacuate their self.
Crew members with Temple fire braced the existing foundation blocks of the structure and added some supporting members where the beams had fallen.
Everyone inside the home was evacuated and no injuries were reported from the incident.
Temple fire says the cause of the structure’s movement is currently unknown.
