CHICAGO (KLTV) - Former Mount Pleasant Tiger Michael Kopech picked up his sixth save of the season on Thursday night as the Chicago White Sox beat the Atlanta Braves 1-0.

The right hander entered the game in the ninth inning.

Kopech faced Matt Olson to begin the inning and sat him down on strikes for the first out. Austin Riley came up next and grounded out to second base for the second out of the inning. Sean Murphy reached based following an error by the short stop to put the tying run on first base. Kopech forced Travis d’Arnaud to fly out to center field for the third and final out of the game.

Kopech threw 16 pitches, with 10 of them being strikes.

The White Sox are 22-61 on the year and sit in fifth place in the AL Central.
