Six East Texas teams begin 7 on 7 state tournament on Thursday

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KLTV) - The state 7 on 7 tournament begins on Thursday and six East Texas teams will have an opportunity to bring home a championship.

The Tyler High Lions are in Pool F in division one with Mesquite Horn, Richmond Randle, and McAllen Rowe. The Lions will face Rowe in their first game, Randle in their second game and end pool play against Mesquite Horn.

The top two teams in each pool in division one will play in the Championship Bracket on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. and the third and fourth place teams will play in the Consolation Bracket on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

The Sabine Cardinals are in Pool A in division two with Hitchcock, Lake Dallas and Lubbock Christian. The Cardinals will play Lubbock Christian first, followed by Lake Dallas and end the day with Hitchcock.

The Kilgore Bulldogs are in Pool H in division two with Graham, Hamshire-Fannett and Dallas Kimball. The Bulldogs take on Kimball in game one, Graham in game two and Hamshire-Fannett to round out pool play.

All division two teams will play in a single-elimination Championship bracket on Friday at 8:45 a.m.

The Daingerfield Tigers are in Pool A in division three with Millsap, Muleshoe and New Waverly. The Tigers will face Millsap in their first game, Muleshoe in the second game and they will end pool play against New Waverly.

The Harmony Eagles are in Pool D in division three with Gunter, Rice Consolidated and Roosevelt. The Eagles will play Gunter first, followed by Roosevelt and end the day with Rice.

The Grapeland Sandies are in Pool G in division three with Honey Grove, Poth and Sunray. The Sandies will play Honey Grove in game one, Poth in game two and Sunray to round out pool play.
