CHICAGO (KLTV) - Former Canton Eagle Colten Brewer tossed a scoreless inning in Chicago’s 8-1 win over the New York Mets on Saturday.

The right hander entered the game in the eighth inning.

Brewer faced Francisco Lindor to begin the inning and got Lindor to go down swinging for the first out. Brandon Nimmo came up next and had the same result as Lindor for the second out. Brewer forced J.D. Martinez to ground out to short for the third and final out of the inning.

Brewer threw 11 pitches, with nine of them being strikes.

The Cubs are 37-41 on the year and sit in fourth place in the NL Central.
