TORONTO (KLTV) - Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten pitched two innings of relief in Boston’s 7-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The right hander entered the game in the seventh inning.

Justin Turner and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled in their at-bats to lead off the inning and put two runners on base for the Blue Jays with nobody out. Slaten bounced back to strike out Daulton Varsho for the first out. Danny Jansen flew out to center field for the second out of the inning. Slaten would throw a wild pitch, which allowed Turner to come in and score. Slaten would then get George Springer to strike out swinging and end the inning.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Slaten executed a 1-2-3 inning by getting Addison Barger to line out to third, Isiah Kiner-Falefa to pop out to third, and struck out Kevin Kiermaier to end the inning.

Slaten threw 24 pitches, with 17 of them being strikes

The Boston Red Sox are now 40-35 on the season and sit in third place in the AL East.
