CHICAGO (KLTV) - Former Canton Eagle Colten Brewer grabbed his first save as the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants 6-5 on Wednesday.

The right hander entered the game in the ninth inning.

Brewer began the inning by getting Thairo Estrada to ground out. Brewer then issued back-to-back walks to Wilmer Flores and Brett Wisely to put two runners on with just one out.

Brewer forced Heliot Ramos to ground out to short for the second out of the inning, but it did advance both runners and put the tying run just 90 feet away. Brewer got Patrick Bailey to ground out to second base to end the inning and secure the save.

Brewer threw 18 pitches, with nine of them being strikes.

The Chicago Cubs are 36-39 on the season and sit in fourth place in the NL Central.
