With dreams to change the world, David looks for family willing to stand by his side

Lufkin, Texas (KLTV) - When you ask a kid what their interests are, Newton’s Law might not be first in mind, but for David, his interests are part of what make him special.

“I like, like the form of the universe, Newton’s Laws, different formulas for different calculations of different elements,” David said.

At just 13 years old, he’s visualized what his future holds. The world of science and math are where he’s found his passion.

“I’m most likely gonna work for NASA,” he said.

A boy with dreams to make an impact through technology.

“Physics, engineering, robotics, nuclear engineering maybe help computer engineering.”

He’s a self-proclaimed “geek,” and he owns it. Describing himself as, “a nerd, a Christian and a worker.”

But apart from his intelligence, at the core lies a playful boy, with so many layers to uncover.

“Swimming. I love to swim, and I like to draw a lot. I draw very good”

David tells us he’s been in the foster care system since he was about four. Living most of his childhood in the system, all David wants is a family willing to get to know him.

“Things I like to do, or like to eat, basically things to get to know me.”

He doesn’t ask for much, just a family that will appreciate his interests and support him as he embarks on a mission to change the world.

“Maybe one day I’m gonna change the world with my thoughts,” he speculates.

Until that happens, one thing is for sure, being by his side, you’ll never run out of reasons to smile.
