NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Dragons spring practices are beginning to wind down, head coach Darby House says the last few weeks have been productive.

“You know, it’s been going well, we’re replacing a lot of great seniors, but we’ve got a lot of good underclassmen coming up and and filling in some big roles and getting after it and working hard and it’s always great when you get to hit each other in the spring,” he said.

Are there any aspects of the offensive side of the ball or the defensive side of the ball that you are satisfied with?

“You know, up front we’ve made a big overhaul up front our whole line men is gonna be a great strength for us this year,” he said. “We got some explosive people in the backfield just like last year. Defensively, you know, we’re going to do a lot of the same stuff, you know, stuff the run, hopefully just better the past. A lot of it’s going to be the exact same stuff just from different different views different ways. And, and so our kids are getting after it getting better and we’re fired up.”

And they will have all the more reason to be fired up this Wednesday; residents of Nacogdoches are encouraged to come out to watch the Dragons and get a preview of the team in their spring game.

“Yes, our spring game will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. here at Dragon Stadium and come out ... support ... come see what we’re working on,” he said.
