LINDALE, Texas (KLTV) - Vineyards from across East Texas brought their best to Lindale’s Piney Woods Wine Festival on Friday. Representatives from 22 members of the Piney Woods Wine Trail were all in one place to show off their wares.

“We come together twice a year and bring all the wineries together,” said Jeff Schrunk, President of the Piney Woods Wine Trail. “The goal is to make it easier for the consumer to try all of the different wines from here in East Texas and give the consumer an appreciation for what we do here.”

It costs $15 to enter the wine garden, with each tasting costing $1. It is free to visit the dozens of vendors in attendance. There is also live music and food.

3,000 people attended last year when the festival was overcast with clouds. Organizers are expecting north of that number after Friday displayed beautiful weather.

“The weather has been absolutely great so it works out, a great place to bring mom for the weekend,” said Schrunk.

The festival continues on Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. at Pickers Pavilion in downtown Lindale. It will end on Saturday at 7 p.m.
